A Little About Me
I’m Elizabeth Flanagan and I’ve always been drawn to movement. I’ve been lucky enough to live in several countries and travel to many more. Each experience abroad has shaped how I see the world and deepened my appreciation for travel that feels intentional and full of heart.
Becoming a travel advisor felt like a natural extension of who I am. I love mapping out the perfect trip and creating that same sense of discovery for each traveler I work with. I started Gumpción to create travel experiences that are beautifully designed, deeply researched, and inspired by real-world experience.
When we work together, my goal is to understand what excites you most about travel and turn that into something unforgettable. I take care of every detail, from the first idea to your journey home, so you can focus on the moments that matter most.
Why I Love To Plan
The magic of travel happens in the details. Once the flights are booked and the hotels are set, I start to picture what each day will feel like: where I’ll eat, who I might meet, what small moments will stay with me long after I’m home.
My love of travel really started on a trip to Costa Rica in 2014. It was the first place I had ever been that felt completely different from where I grew up, and it changed the way I saw the world.
When I plan trips now, I think about how to recreate that feeling by finding the balance between structure and spontaneity. I always leave a little space in the itinerary because that’s where the magic usually happens. I’ve learned that the best moments on a trip are rarely the ones you plan for.

Elizabeth built us a Madrid itinerary that felt perfect. She mapped each day by neighborhood so we weren’t running across the city, and her restaurant picks were exactly the vibe we wanted. We basically just followed the plan step by step and had the best trip.

I needed a hotel in Boston for a quick work trip and Elizabeth made it so easy. She sent three options that were convenient (walkable to meetings, easy check-in, quiet), explained the tradeoffs in one sentence each, and handled the booking. It was done in under an 30 minutes and I didn’t have to think about it again.

Paris felt intimidating to plan, but Elizabeth made it simple and exciting. She recommended a hotel that matched our style and built a flexible itinerary. Everything was organized in one place.
